List of roses |
Garry and Evelyn kindly opened their gardens to the Club for our July 2002 meeting. The weather was wonderful, and the roses, even if one week past their peak, were splendid. In addition to roses, Evelyn & Garry have 100 varieties of apples on dwarf trees, persimmon, grapes, raspberries, and the largest onions in captivity. Deer are a constant problem in Central Saanich, and Garry has resorted to wire fencing supported by wooden posts, and a rotten egg repellant spray. The recipe for the spray is easy - just break some eggs into your sprayer, mix with water, let sit in the sun for 24 hours, then spray the stinky stuff on all the foliage around the perimeter of your property. |
