Diana and Larry live on Elk Lake, on a sunny lot. Their gardening has to be done behind fences, because the deer will eat everything, including yew. The patio is surrounded by a cedar lattice fence, creating four "rooms" for roses. They are grown along the fence and the house, with a mixture of path, concrete flagstone and grass between. Some dwarf boxwood is being grown up to create formal hedging around one of the rose "rooms". Diana has planned the garden to have a graduation of colours, to the right from cream through yellow, orange and coral ending at the dusky red-brown of Hot Cocoa. To the left, white to peach and apricot, pinks, reds and ending in a selection of red-purple. Read more of what Larry and Diana have to say about rose selection on the different photo pages in this tour.
