Bring a mug to the meetings for coffee, and any garden extras or rosey items for the sale table.

Meeting

At Pat Calveley;s home, 4579 Scarborough Rd. It is to discuss further our coming show on Saturday, June 23rd.Joan Dobell will help those who are showing and competing for the first time, how to best prepare your roses .
Jacquie will be there with copies of the Rose Show Schedule and will
answer any questions. We have had interest from outside the club
about competing so maybe this will result in some new members. This
is not a formal meeting so come with, your questions. You are welcome
to wander in Pat's garden if you promise to only look at the lovely
roses and ignore the weeds, etc. There will be refreshments and as Pat's home is only two blocks away from The Glendale gardens, you may want to wander
over there as well. If you can make it, a RSVP would be appreciated
to calveleyinvictoria@shaw.ca.We will try and send an email to
members with this information as well.

View Royal Garden Club Rose Show

Setup on Friday June  22nd from 9:00 pm til 11:00 pm, at Hillside Mall

Hillside Mall, Centre Court - Hillside Rd. and Shelbourne - Exhibition and Judged Show together with the Victoria Flower Arrangers Guild. Open all day during Mall hours.

We will meet at John and Jackie Wrinch's on Tuesday at 6 pm.

Starling Lane Winery 5271 Old West Saanich Rd, Victoria, BC, corner of Old West Saanich and Starling Lane.

The weather forecast is  for sunshine!!! We may make another stop, to be confirmed.

The August meeting August 21st will be at Joan Dobells, 10648 Madrona Drive, North Saanich at 7 pm..... following a tour of her wonderful collection of Hybrid Tea Roses amongst perennials. If any members in the area have roses to show, let Pat know and we will visit there as well.

The September meeting at our usual meeting place will be Tuesday September 18 and we have Brad Jalbert as our special speaker from Langley. Brad is owner of Select Roses (www.selectroses.ca) and will be bringing some miniature Roses for sale.

We have an exciting speaker Odile Masquelier from Lyon, France coming to Victoria for the Thanksgiving weekend.

As we are co-hosting this event with Royal Roads, it will be held at Royal Roads University. Tickets are $10 to defray costs and Gregg Higgs, Head Gardner of the wonderful Rose Gardens at Royal Roads will lead a tour through the gardens at no extra cost.

The lecture on Sunday, October 7th is at 1:00 pm. As we will be meeting in the Quarterdeck at the Grant Building, you may want to come for lunch first at Habitat, the adjacent restaurant. Odile will be available after the lecture to meet fellow rosarians.She has also published a beautiful book "La Bonne Maison" which we expect will be available for purchase.
