Ielean believes in "intensive" planting and combining differnt types of plants for their blends of colours. On her city lot you'll find roses, hardy geraniums, clematis, hostas, astilbes, hebes, heuchera, ornamental grasses, iris, and many more perennials.

Between her garden, deck and driveway, plus the rose garden that she has planted in an accommodating neighbor's front yard, there are about 190 rose bushes.
